Chelsea's Dream Renovation

I love a great renovation and funnily enough, my husband and I are in the middle of our own home remodel right now. I could go on and on about my dream renovation, but I think our big must-haves right now are a huge Florida room and a beautiful backyard. We are currently working on enclosing a 300 sqft back patio and converting it into a beautiful and airy Florida room; It will have large, side-sliding windows perfect for letting in the summer breeze, a wet bar, and French doors that open up to our outdoor entertainment area.

Outside, we have a newly poured patio with a pergola above. Each post is wrapped with jasmine and I cannot wait until the jasmine is fully grown and intertwines with the beams above to create the perfect amount of shade. Beyond the patio, we have stepping stones that lead to our fire pit and we are looking forward to utilizing it more in the winter months. I’m picturing our family now; all of us sitting around the fire, roasting marshmallows and eating s’mores. While our entertainment area is perfect for adults, we have three children and we’re looking forward to making this a space they can also enjoy. After re-sodding the yard, we have already added a trampoline and we will soon add a play set and a tire swing.

Once our Florida room and backyard remodel are complete, we can’t wait to open up this space for our family and friends to come over and enjoy adult conversation while our children enjoy themselves nearby.

Jamily's Dream Renovation

I have to be honest, I’m not sure I could pick just one place in my home to renovate! I love our home and we make it work for us! Without seeming unsatisfied, I will say that I wish I could spend more time outside. Our backyard is just large enough for our family of 6, fenced and backs up to a thicket of trees. When the wind blows you can hear the sound of those trees swishing around, it’s lovely. Sometimes when I’m working on my computer, I stop and look out the window into our backyard and wish I could just work out there all day. I would make our deck larger, add a bigger seating area, a separate section for our grill and smoker, and definitely include a bench swing. Living in Florida for many years has taught me that a screen around the outdoor entertainment area is key to minimize the leaves and debris that comes with our hurricane season. There’s something about breathing fresh air that improves your mood, if you haven’t been able to spend time outside this season, I encourage you to do so! Renovating your outdoor space not only allows you to work outside, like so many people do in 2021, but it also gives you, your family and friends a place to gather on cool spring nights!

Erica's Dream Renovation

It's really hard to pick just one dream renovation because my pinterest board proves I have a lot of home dreams BUT, if I haveee to choose I'm going with a backyard makeover. First and foremost, I would add an in-ground pool with a tanning ledge. I'd probably also add a pool heater so I don't have to stop the fun when we get those 3-4 cold months. Next up - an outdoor kitchen complete with a brick pizza oven (I'm drooling just thinking about all the good food we would make) and a covered space to add a big table for all the friends and family we would have over. I want string lights galore and maybe even a couple of palm trees to really make me feel like I'm in my very own paradise. I can't make the backyard alllllllll for me though, Theo hates all water so I would need a big grassy area for him to run, play, and sunbathe in the yard.

Jassmine's Dream Renovation

My favorite parts of a home are essentially the exterior (curb appeal), kitchen, bathroom, separate living, formal dining room and bar area for entertainment is a MUST. For the exterior, I enjoy pavers, palm trees for a true "Floridian feel" and soft lighting that spotlights certain parts of the home.

I enjoy cooking (when not pressured). :) The kitchen should be large, include a double oven, large stainless steel vent and appliances, and have neutral colors such as white or gray, with neutral granite countertops. An accent wall at the bar with a bit of texture is ideal.

I'm a mother of 2 small children. With my first child, I learned quickly that toddlers and carpet do NOT get along. Flooring throughout the home should be marbled or epoxy with a (marble-look) is acceptable. Recession lights throughout home provides a nice modern look.

EVERY master bathroom should have a chandelier (no room for debate). It's so regal and exquisite! A vintage stand-alone tub and large walk-in shower would make me feel like a Queen!

Mary Mychael's Dream Renovation

So, I live in a condo building that is basically a family compound, which is something I never imagined, but absolutely love. Having my in-laws just steps away (hello built-in babysitters) is so much fun and super convenient. The past couple of years, we have been super fortunate to have checked most of our dream renovations off of our list (think the dreamiest master bathroom, the kitchen of my dreams, and the most beautiful dining room table that I had been ogling for YEARS) … BUT that isn’t what this article is about, so if I was to go BONKERS with this idea here’s the plan:

1) A laundry room that includes a laundry folding machine (can someone invent this already?).

2) Add to my dream master bathroom: a sauna, a steam room, and a hot tub built into the floor…oh yea and the floors are heated too… and I want a built in towel warmer (basically I want to live in a spa).

3) A built in intercom system so I can stop screaming across the house.

4) A massive homegrown garden (ok this is totally do-able) with allll the veggies and fruits and herbs.

5) And finally, and most boringly, I want to add pocket lights throughout our house. Ok I guess this one is also doable…and not exactly a “dream” renovation, but it is on my list…so it’s my dream!

Anyway, go live your dream and make your house one you are proud of! And if you can’t, I can help you find one that can! :)

Amanda's Dream Renovation

We have a 1911 home so we have many "dream renovation projects." Right now, we are working on finishing out our Master Bathroom. Once that's done, we are going to finish our outside kitchen. My husband grew up in La Jolla in San Diego in the 70's + worked for G&S Surfboards when they first started. He wanted a surfboard for our bar top outside so he contacted them to have one custom made with the original logo + specs we needed. When he called, Debbie Gordon (Larry Gordon's daughter) answered and remembered Mark (they had even been out on a date once when they were kids lol). She was so nice + set us up. In the middle of it all, her father passed, and she sent Mark a video of the paddle out ceremony which he loved.

Here’s to more projects!
