Mary Mychael's Dream Renovation

So, I live in a condo building that is basically a family compound, which is something I never imagined, but absolutely love. Having my in-laws just steps away (hello built-in babysitters) is so much fun and super convenient. The past couple of years, we have been super fortunate to have checked most of our dream renovations off of our list (think the dreamiest master bathroom, the kitchen of my dreams, and the most beautiful dining room table that I had been ogling for YEARS) … BUT that isn’t what this article is about, so if I was to go BONKERS with this idea here’s the plan:

1) A laundry room that includes a laundry folding machine (can someone invent this already?).

2) Add to my dream master bathroom: a sauna, a steam room, and a hot tub built into the floor…oh yea and the floors are heated too… and I want a built in towel warmer (basically I want to live in a spa).

3) A built in intercom system so I can stop screaming across the house.

4) A massive homegrown garden (ok this is totally do-able) with allll the veggies and fruits and herbs.

5) And finally, and most boringly, I want to add pocket lights throughout our house. Ok I guess this one is also doable…and not exactly a “dream” renovation, but it is on my list…so it’s my dream!

Anyway, go live your dream and make your house one you are proud of! And if you can’t, I can help you find one that can! :)

Amanda's Dream Renovation

We have a 1911 home so we have many "dream renovation projects." Right now, we are working on finishing out our Master Bathroom. Once that's done, we are going to finish our outside kitchen. My husband grew up in La Jolla in San Diego in the 70's + worked for G&S Surfboards when they first started. He wanted a surfboard for our bar top outside so he contacted them to have one custom made with the original logo + specs we needed. When he called, Debbie Gordon (Larry Gordon's daughter) answered and remembered Mark (they had even been out on a date once when they were kids lol). She was so nice + set us up. In the middle of it all, her father passed, and she sent Mark a video of the paddle out ceremony which he loved.

Here’s to more projects!

Alaina's Dream Renovation

Having 4 kids & entering our 52nd week of lockdown 🥴, outdoor space is at the tip-top of our renovation wishlist! We would start by replacing the French doors leading to the backyard with multi-slide doors like these Pella Architect Series Patio Doors . From there we would have The Pratt Guys, leading outdoor designers, design a lagoon pool with beach style entry, and an expansive wooden deck complete with an outdoor kitchen. We would install misting fans and create plenty of shaded moments as well. A fun jungle gym for the kids would round out our dream outdoor oasis reno project!

Sadie's Top 3 Jacksonville Faves

  1. Plant Place Nursery: Whether you are looking for a new house plant, looking to add to your rare plant collection, or wanting to spruce up your outdoor landscape, Plant Place is the place to go! They have very adorable and friendly cats, chickens, and they even have their own bee hive. If you have not been, it is a great spot to go adventure!

  2. RP’s Fine Food & Drink: 3 words… blackened chicken sandwich. RP’s is my favorite place to go on sunny beach days or for a Sunday Funday brunch. While their food is delicious and their cocktails are just as great, the most important thing is that they have amazing homemade ranch!

  3. Angie's Subs: If you’ve never tried Peruvian sauce, you have to make a trip to Angie’s very soon! This delicious sub shop is a staple in the Jacksonville Beach community. For a local tip, Angies Subs are perfect to grab and enjoy while you’re catching sun rays on the beach!
