FALL in Love with JAX
/Why Autumn Might Be the Best Time to Find Your Next Home
in Jacksonville, Florida
Cooler weather, cozy coffee shops, and maybe a new set of house keys? Yes, please.
Fall in Jacksonville is a little different. We don’t exactly have mountains covered in colorful leaves, and our idea of sweater weather might be anything below 75 degrees. But honestly? That’s part of the charm.
The humidity finally gives us a break, outdoor patios become irresistible, and suddenly everyone remembers why they love living in Florida.
And here’s something you might not have considered: fall can also be a great time to buy or sell a home.
Let’s talk about why!
1. Fall Is for Coffee, Walks, & Neighborhood Exploring
One of the best ways to find the right neighborhood is to spend time in it before you start house hunting. Grab a latte at Southern Grounds in Neptune Beach, explore the shops along Edgewood Avenue in Murray Hill, or spend a Saturday morning at the Riverside Arts Market. Walk around. Check out the local businesses. Imagine what your weekends might look like if you lived there.
Because finding the right home isn’t just about bedrooms, bathrooms, and square footage. It’s about finding a place that fits your lifestyle.
2. Buyers, You Might Have a Little More Breathing Room
Spring and summer traditionally attract plenty of house hunters, particularly families hoping to move before the school year begins.
By fall, some of that activity has slowed down.
Does that mean every seller is suddenly offering huge discounts? Unfortunately, no. (Wouldn’t that be nice?) But depending on the neighborhood and price range, buyers may encounter less competition, more opportunities to negotiate, and sellers who are motivated to make a move before the holidays.
Our advice: Don’t wait for the mythical “perfect market” — focus on finding the right property, understanding the numbers, and making a smart decision.
3. Sellers, Your Home Can Still Shine!
Just because the spring selling season is behind us doesn’t mean you missed your opportunity. In fact, Jacksonville’s fall weather can be a real advantage and many out of state buyers move here just for that!
