The Ultimate JAX Summer Bucket List
/Let’s be honest: by mid-July in Florida, we’re all a little sweaty, a little sunburned, and surviving almost entirely on iced coffee and watermelon. But somehow… summer in JAX still hits.
There’s just something about beach mornings, late sunsets, and spontaneous “should we grab tacos?” texts that makes this season feel fun again. So instead of another boring “Top 10 Summer Activities” list, I made a realistic Jacksonville Summer Bucket List—the kind normal people might actually want to do.
Feel free to screenshot it, send it to your group chat, or aggressively forward it to your spouse when someone says “we should do more this summer.”

☐ Try a new local coffee shop instead of your emotional support Starbucks
☐ Have dinner outdoors somewhere in San Marco or Avondale
☐ Go to the Riverside Arts Market hungry
MAIN CHARACTER ACTIVITIES
☐ Ride bikes around the Beaches and look at dream houses
☐ Read a book at Memorial Park and pretend your life is slower than it is
☐ Take yourself on a solo lunch date
☐ Go to a Jumbo Shrimp game for the vibes, not necessarily the baseball
FAMILY SUMMER CHAOS

THE “MAYBE WE SHOULD MOVE…” SECTION

☐ Accidentally fall in love with a house
A Little Real Estate Truth…
Summer is one of the best times to explore Jacksonville neighborhoods because people are actually out living in them. Kids riding bikes, people walking dogs, patios full, parks busy—it gives you a feel for what life there would really look like.
Whether you’re dreaming about beach life, walkability, more space, or simply a home that fits your current season better… summer tends to make those feelings louder.
And honestly? That’s usually where the fun starts.
At Root Realty, we’re always here to help when the “what if we moved?” conversations become real. Until then—go make the summer memories.
