Springtime in JAX: Best Things to Do Outdoors

Spring in Jacksonville is elite. The weather? Perfect. The humidity? Still behaving. The group chats? Suddenly full of “let’s do something outside.”

If you’ve been waiting all year to romanticize your life a little… this is your moment.

Here are some of our favorite ways to enjoy JAX outdoors this spring:

1. Riverside Arts Market (your new Saturday routine)

Every Saturday under the Fuller Warren Bridge = pure local magic. Think fresh flowers, local produce, handmade goods, live music, and snacks you didn’t plan on eating but absolutely will. Grab a popsicle from @boldcitypops, stroll along the river, and pretend you’re the kind of person who always shops local (you are now).

2. Coffee + Walk Combo (our favorite personality trait)

Spring = walking season. And in Jacksonville, we don’t walk without a destination… preferably caffeine.

Some of our go-to combos:

 @southerngrounds (Neptune Beach) + beach walk

 @roundbirdcoffee (Riverside) + neighborhood stroll

 @socialgroundsco (Springfield) + dog spotting (highly recommended activity)

3. Parks, Picnics & “I Brought Snacks” Energy

Now is the time to romanticize a picnic. Blanket, snacks, maybe a little wine (no judgment).

Favorite spots:

 Memorial Park (Riverside) – river views + chef’s kiss sunsets

 Boone Park (Avondale) – shady, peaceful, dog-friendly

 South Beach Park & Sunshine Playground – perfect for kids, make sure they bring their swimsuit

4. Bike Rides + Beach Days

This is your sign to dust off your bike. Cruise through San Marco, ride along A1A, or do the classic: beach ride → coffee → lunch → “should we move here?” conversation. Stop at @mezzajax in Neptune Beach for lunch or a spritz. You earned it.

5. Sunset Everything

Spring sunsets in JAX are underrated. Whether it’s the beach, the Riverwalk, or your friend’s backyard, this is your reminder to slow down and actually enjoy them. Bonus points if there’s takeout involved.

A Little Real Estate Moment…

Spring doesn’t just bring better weather—it also brings one of the busiest real estate seasons of the year. Buyers are out exploring neighborhoods (probably doing half the things on this list), and sellers have the chance to show off their homes when everything looks its best—sunlight, greenery, outdoor spaces… all working in your favor.

So if you’ve found yourself thinking:

“I love this area…”

“I wish I lived closer to this…”

“Wait… should we actually move?”

Just know… that’s exactly how it starts.

At Root Realty, we’re here to help you turn those springtime thoughts into actual plans (and

keys).
